Day 1 Inaugural Session - GPS

The Inaugural Session of AIMA's 10th Global Procurement Summit was addressed by Mr Nikhil Sawhney, Past President, AIMA & VC and MD, Triveni Turbines; Mr Sanjay Aggarwal, Advisor, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance; Ms Anna L Wielogorska, Regional Procurement Manager (South Asia), The World Bank; Ms Rekha Sethi, Director General AIMA; and Prof. (Dr.) Rohit Singh. The keynote addresses were delivered by Shri Ayay Tamta, Minister of State, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, GOI; Ms Aarti Mehra, Deputy Country Director, Asian Development Bank; Mr Paul Procee, Operations Manager & Deputy Country Director, The World Bank, respectively. The Speakers highlighted enhancing procurement strategies to drive both environmental responsibility and operational efficiency, in their addresses.

Session 1 on streamlining procurement processes for greater efficiency led by Mr Sanjay Aggarwal; Mr IPS Sethi, Director General, National Informatics Centre, GOI; Mr Syed Jawed Ahmed, Executive Director (CMMG), Steel Authority of India Limited; Mr Brijendra Swaroop, Executive Director Projects, National Mission for Clean Ganga and Mr Sunil Bhasker, Group General Manager, Procurement, National Capital Region Transport Corporation, focused on streamlining procurement to boost efficiency, reduce costs, improve supplier relationships, and leverage technology for enhanced business performance and competitiveness.

Plenary Session 2 - Newer Procurement Approaches

Session 2 on ‘Newer Procurement Approaches’ was addressed by Mr Adu-Gyamfi Abunyewa, Lead Procurement Specialist, The World Bank; Mr. Abhijeet Sinha, Technocrat, Program Director, Ease of Doing Business; Mr Rajneesh Rana, Head (Convergence), Convergence Energy Service Ltd; Mr Mirant Parikh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation; Mr Pradeep Agrawal, Joint Director General, NRIDA, Ministry of Rural Development, GOI and Mr Arun Mehta, Indian Railway Store Services (IRSS) Officer, Konkan Railways. The session shared insights on newer procurement approaches, highlighting technology, automation, and data strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive innovation.
